Questions

Questions from general contractors and agencies

Can I get your prequalification sheet before a bid is due?

Yes. Email us, tell us the bid date, and we send it back as a one-page PDF. It carries our licenses, registrations, certifications, safety numbers, projects and insurance limits.

Are you registered to work on New Jersey public projects?

The sheet shows our public works contractor registration and its number, so your agency can check it with the state before award.

Do you work as a prime contractor or a subcontractor?

Mostly as the electrical subcontractor to a general contractor. On smaller public jobs we can bid directly to the owner. The bid says which one we are pricing.

What do you need from us to bid?

The drawings, specifications, addenda and the bid date. If there is a pre-bid walk, tell us where and when. We send our questions in writing before the deadline.

Can you price alternates and unit prices?

Yes. Alternates and unit prices are written on their own lines of the bid, on your form if you have one.

How do you handle prevailing wage and certified payroll?

On public work we run certified payroll and send the reports with each pay application. The wage rates come from the schedule in the contract.

What insurance do you carry?

General liability, umbrella and workers' compensation, with the limits on the sheet. Our broker can name your agency as an additional insured on request.

Does anyone on the crew speak Spanish?

Our project manager, Rita Vega, and part of the field crew do. Ask and we will put you in touch with someone who does.

Your question is not here?
